Product Description

This is a wonderful military devotional by Michael Glass. In the forward, the author explains his fears as a father of a soldier and how he came to pray for his sonís protection while his son was deployed in Iraq.

Although titled A Fatherís Prayer, this devotional is certainly helpful to mothers, military spouses and other family members of those in combat. The prayer is easily adaptable to apply to any loved one in combat. It s appropriate for members of all service branches Ė Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as National Guard members and Reservists.

This devotional will make a wonderful gift to the family member or friend of anyone who has been deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, or any other theater of war. The prayer covers many situations our American troops face in the war on terrorism. Portions of the prayer cover attacks by insurgents and specific types of attacks, such as mortars and IEDs. This special prayer even covers non-combat matters, such as sickness, leisure or rest from combat duties.

Included in this devotional is a discussion of prayer and its benefits, and how to come before God and pray. This discussion and the special prayer of protection for those in combat, A Fatherís Prayer, are all supported with citations to Scripture.

The prayer is repeated in an Appendix without Biblical citations and with blank spaces to write in the name of the readerís loved one who is serving in a combat role. In another appendix is a Prayer for Salvation.
